App Privacy Policy

General information

This Privacy Policy outlines how the TeslaKee Android application handles your personal and sensitive data. We take your privacy and security extremely seriously, which is why TeslaKee is designed with a strict “On-Device Processing Only” architecture.

On-Device Processing Only

We want to explicitly clarify that none of the privacy-relevant information (such as your personal data, location data, or cryptographic key material) ever leaves your device.

All evaluations, such as geofencing boundaries, motion detection events, and Wi-Fi state checks, are performed entirely locally on your smartphone. We do not transmit, upload, or store your keys, location history, or any other telemetry data on any external servers.

StrongBox Keystore & Cryptography

Your cryptographic keys used to communicate with and authenticate to your vehicle are generated and stored exclusively within the Android StrongBox Keystore (the secure hardware element of your device).

• Keys cannot be extracted by the operating system, other applications, or the developers of TeslaKee.
• Communication with your vehicle occurs solely over local Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). No remote internet connection is required or utilized for unlocking your car.

Permissions

To function correctly as a passive entry key, TeslaKee requires certain device permissions:

• Location Permissions: Used exclusively for the Geofencing policy to determine if you are within a designated safe zone. This data is never logged or transmitted.
• Physical Activity (Motion): Used to determine if the device has been stationary to automatically disable the BLE broadcast and mitigate relay attacks.
• Bluetooth: Required to communicate locally with the vehicle.
• Internet: Required strictly to download OpenStreetMap tiles for the geofence visualizer. Your location data and keys are NEVER uploaded.
